to this google searchable url:

is this a PHP setting thing that needs to be changed? what would I google in order to find a decent tutorial to show me how to do this? currently my googles aren't helping me out..

You use mod rewrite-- it's an Apache webserver thing. Try www.modrewrite.com for starters.
