View Full Version : IIS7 on Vista, nothing but 404.3s

I just installed IIS7 on my Vista Ultimate x64 box for easier development, but for the life of me I can't work out how to actually get asp and asp.net pages to run.

Whenever I try and run the pages it gives me an error 404.3 and tells me that the page was rejected because it's MIME type was not added. I'm pretty sure it's MIME shouldn't be added (it obviously isn't by default), otherwise it would end up downloading the page rather than having the server execute it, right?

So how can I get my pages to run under IIS7 (currently completely on default settings)?

Nevermind, seems you have to install asp and asp.net with their isapi filters separately from "Programs and Features", even though they are already physically on the machine. I will try that now.

God damnit, now I get nothing but 503: Service unavailable on even directory lists or html pages

I got most stuff back working again by installing IIS6 config scripts and running

cscript %SYSTEMDRIVE%\inetpub\adminscripts\adsutil.vbs SET W3SVC/AppPools/Enable32bitAppOnWin64 true

I didn't have to iis register the 32 bit version of asp.net isapi. (In fact I can't, it tells me that IIS doesn't exist.)

Now seemingly all pages except work fine, including asp and asp.net.
