my ie error pages redirecting to http://www.lop.com pages include the syntax error in url and the server can not be found pages.
I didn't configure this to happen but it does and it is horrible. Even when I navigate to a directory the doesn't exist I get redirected there. And if I'm offline it tries to reconnect.
Can someone help me to stop this from happening.

Congrats Mhtml and welcome to spyware city
Try reading this page: http://www.spywareinfo.com/articles/lop/
And then download a removal program like Spybot (http://download.com.com/3000-2144-10167468.html?tag=lst-0-1).

Thanks for the links, I never knew that it was anything like that.
How I got it though I don't know.
edit; since they did that to me would it be wrong if I were to say click a button on a program my friend made that would coincidently kill their mail servers? ;)

I had that same lop.com ... stupid thing. I can't even remember where from.
System Restore on XP is good. It just turns the clock back - like none of it ever happened :D

Yeah I've heard good things about that system restore thing, alas my computer is to slow to handle xp...well that and it's to expensive here in Australia.
