Is anyone using Dreamweaver CS3? If you are, have they improved the actionscript editing capabilities? I'm considering in editing the configuration file so that the code coloring and drop down tooltips are more enhanced and useful.
Does anyone know if someone has already done something like this? I didn't see any results when I used Google pertaining this matter.
Would editing the configuration files be an efficient way of doing this or should I consider making an extension of some sort?

Not sure what you mean. Actionscript isn't used in DW CS3. It is used in Flash CS3 however. I find the code coloring and drop down tips in DW to be useful. I also like that it can format CSS as well but only when its embedded in the document rather than in an external stylesheet.

I'm sorry. I meant as far as authoring actionscript files. I really don't like using the built-in actionscript editor that is native to the Flash product. Mainly b/c its too small of a workarea for my liking. I've built a custom workspace but I hate flipping back and forth.
If you've authored an .as file in Dreamweaver you'll notice how much lacking it is. Do you remember how authoring CSS use to be in Dreamweaver MX? It wasn't very intuitive and didn't know the CSS properties. And then they improved upon that in Dreamweaver 2004 making code coloring possible and added the tooltip dropdown box for properties.
I'm aware that I can go Edit > Preferences and change the code coloring options but thats not enough. I wanted to add some additional things. For instance, I've edited my configuration to highlight some of my custom functions as if they were PHP functions. Even the tooltip for that particular function shows up.

The reason I want to add this to Dreamweaver is because I don't want to always be forced to open Flash just to edit a .as file.

Why not just author the as file in Flash CS3? It has a script assist feature, and it has a large help file. There is also SE|PY, which is a decent actionscript editor.

I think I'll do some more adjusting and save another workspace layout. If not, give in and use Se|py.
My reason for not wanting to do so was...I always have Dreamweaver open and didn't want to have to open another editor to edit code (albeit is another language). (I have really bad Cpu ADD therefore it is not unusual for me to have Dreamweaver, Photoshop, and a few Firefox windows open all at the same time.)
I know that Lee Brimelow uses SE|PY and seems to enjoy it.

I'm the same way, though I just bought a new laptop with Vista and I am dual screening with an extended desktop so desktop space isn't an issue.
