I have a button that calls a function link function goToLogos() { window.location = "http://geocities.com/nikos_katsikanis/logos"; }
The page visited is way different from the preview in Geocities. I get all this rubbish! Any ideas?

Why are you even using geocities? They put ads on your page that sometimes mess up page layout and the way things appear.

So you are using Geocities application to make your webpages and in the previews in said program it looks like you want but when you visit it in a browser it isn't what you want?

You're not gaining realistic experience using geocities though, and hosting costs next to nothing...

Yeah that's the problem having no control over your fies :thumbsup:
I wouldn't presume to recommend a host, as I've only ever used 1&1 - they're pretty good, IMO... I mean they have to be, they're one of the biggest out there.

OK Pennimus thanks for your advice, I am looking at 1&1. I live in the UK. what is the merits of either .com or .co.uk?

I never really liked 1&1 although they are suitable if all you want is to upload and manage your files.
I am using servint.net and a2hosting.com for work and personal sites and have gained a lot of experience setting up my own virtual server and running it the way I want.

I do a lot more than just upload and manage files with 1&1... maybe you only have experience with the low end package?
.com vs.co.uk - really depends on your site. Get both if you can and then worry about a decision later!

I resolved my problem. I had a subdirectory named logos and I had an a html page named logos.
The subdirectory had preference(I didn't want this). Back to geocities for now!
