View Full Version : CSS Parse Errors

I'm racking my brain trying to figure out what's wrong with these lines:

Parse Error - --> #email {display:block; margin-top:10px; font-weight:300;padding-top:20px; background:url(images/line.jpg) top left no-repeat; width:380px; }

Parse Error - --> ul#sidebar {width:306px;float:left;}

Parse Error - --> li.btn_bar a.corp {background-image:url(images/home/corp.jpg);}

Parse Error - --> li.btn_bar a.corp .btn_h {color:#C6D2B1;}

Parse Error - --> .golden {color:#EDD770;}

Parse Error - --> #cr {font-size:10px; margin-left: 10px; margin-top:2px;color:#999999;}

Does anyone have any suggestions?

There’s nothing wrong with the CSS by itself. Where do you get these error messages from? Got link?

You got those errors from the w3c validator?

Yes here: http://copilotdesign.com/testingsites

The CSS appears to be parsing correctly in IE but not Firefox..

Any ideas?

You cannot use HTML comments in CSS.

They must be like this:

/* comment here */

Perhaps that's what is causing the problems...

Things like this are wrong

<!-- Email Opt-in -->
Thats an HTML comment, not a CSS comment. A correct CSS comment would be

/* Email Opt-in */

You have your solution now though, copilotdesign. :)
