Hi,

Domain Parking, domain kiting. We have a lot of webpages that have nothing to say. Only to pollute the web. No useful contents. Only ads.

What you means about these pages named "parked pages" like moniker.com, sedo.com, w3.org and hundreds of other "things".And alsoabout the Domain Kiting?

Thanks

w3.org is the wepbsite of the world wide web consortium, and if anyone has a right to a website, they certainly do...

Sure itís annoying to have these websites but they just bought a domain and are trying to sell them again. Thatís the market economy. If you buy the domains and put some meaningful content we wonít have those meaningless domains anymore.

I saw thousands of domain names to be sold at www.godaddy.com and sedo.com (where it is possible to sell not only the domain nam], but also an entire website).

I donīt believe someone pay hundreds of USD by a domain name.

Not only do they pay hundreds, in some cases they pay a lot more than that. Two recent domain acquisitions: seo.com sold for $5,000,000, porn.com for $9,500,000.

Like any commodity you will see it bought and sold. I suggest you get used to it

The current issue of Business 2.0 Magazine has a cover story on the "domainers" who buy domains to park

At least I never type the domain name I find on the " address bar".

My suggestion: When you find a good available domain name. register IT on time.

I imagine these "intelligent men" pay only cents by register a doman name instead $9, $10 or more by each domain name.

When "domain kiting" them paying nothing. I unknow any registar that allows
cancel a domain name registration after 4 or 5 days and re-registrar them again and again.

By two times I did a mistake when I was registering a domain name, but my Registrar ignored my appeals!

Thanks

I still remember ... some 5 years back i was interested in buying dawnclassifieds.com ... as i was almost new to web development and my idea was ... me and some of mates will be doing practice of scripting languages and will make some sort of free classifieds website .... I dont remember exact name of the hosting company ... I checked the domain name couple of times through their website .... soon after 3 days ... tht domain was purchased by the same company on which i was searching whether its available or not....

Later i contact the company and they asked me for $10k for the same domain which was $10 / year..... 3 days earlier.
