Hey everyone,
I would like you to have a look at this site i have done. You may recognise the url from one of my old site reviews. It has been redesigned and its my first site using mysql and php.
It is not completely finished just one or two things left to do. For example there is no index page yet.
Anyway can you guys just have a look and tell me if there is anything wrong or give some suggestions for improvement etc. Could a few of you say 4 post feedback from the two forms and add some items to the shopping basket. Oh and plase test the shopping cart, most important. Add some things, delete them, change quanity etc.
Thanks very much guys.
Look forward to your reponse.
P.S If you test my shopping cart system for me you dont need to pay for anything, its just a booking type system !! :p
krycek 12-16-2002, 01:07 PM that's a very clean and tidy site... I like it!
My only gripe is your menus, I think you should chnage the cursor because when you hover over the text you currently have the text icon.
I didn;t spend long there and I didn;t check your shopping stuff, just looked at the site :)

murphyz 12-16-2002, 01:14 PM Continue Shopping image missing when you have added things to the basket.
Missing image (letter.gif) on 'email us' page
Missing image (Map.gif) on 'Where to find us' page
With the drop down menu's at the top I would prefer them not to have a blank cell at the end, and they took a bit too long to disappear when I moved the mouse off them, perhaps speed it up a little.
Hope this helps.
Mxx
ionsurge 12-16-2002, 03:31 PM All I have to say is that there are a few images missing, but I think that Murphyz talked about it already.
Otherwise it is fine. :)
Ionsurge.

murphyz 12-16-2002, 03:58 PM yep, that's what I entered. I'm not sure what the pipe benders actually do but I had a feeling I may need a fwe of them.

applesauce 12-16-2002, 04:08 PM hi
i agree- very clean and neat
i tried the shopping basket, added and removed stuff, and it worked fine.
same thing with the "continue shopping" image, though.
Thats good murphyz. Pipe benders a plumbing tool simply used to bend pipes in nice curves. They are like big scissors I suppose. Just put your pipe in and pull the handles until its bent as much as you want.
You learn something new everyday !!
thanks applesauce
I put those images back up. They must have gone walkies somehow. Anyhow they should be there now.
murphyz 12-16-2002, 04:31 PM Going through the same link as before the same 3 images are still missing I'm afraid.
hmm, must buy some pipes.
Mxx
ha ha silly me
I still had the links to those images pointing to my computer. So I was getting confused because I didn't know how you guys couldn't see them yet I could.
Well that problem should be fixed now ??
:D
murphyz 12-16-2002, 05:06 PM getting there, it's just the button that says 'continue shopping' now when you have added something to the basket.
Mxx
mmm, whats going on here then
can you have a look at the image src link for me murphyz i am confused now.
thanks
murphyz 12-16-2002, 05:17 PM No I won't.
But only because it's working now.
My only gripe now is what I mentioned about the last cell of the drop down and also the time from mouseoff - but that's just a personal preference.
Well done on the site.
Mxx
hey thanks murphyz
we got there in the end. what a muddle.
when you get your pipes come and see me and i'll sort you out a nice set of pipe benders :p
landon11 12-16-2002, 06:16 PM looks great to me except your printer image just doesn't look as nice and clean as everything else.
Hey landan11,
yer I have changed the printer now locally anyway. It was just too big thats why it looked funny.
ScottInTexas 12-17-2002, 05:19 PM Very nice. My only comment/suggestion is that the user should be returned to the index if he selected an item from there and added it to the shopping cart. On continue I was returned to the main page. My thinking is that a user might use the index (like I did) to find a saw and some other wood working tools then check out. Kind of speedy that way.
I like the site. I think the term Clean is accurate.
beetle 12-17-2002, 05:30 PM Personally, I like the design. Presentation and layout all work well. However, the contrast is too low. The blue is pretty light, and you use white text on it. The background is white, and you use medium gray text on it.
Also, you could benefit from a tertiary color that isn't blue or neutral. Go to www.colorschemer.com/online and enter R: 0 G: 153 B: 255 to find some good colors to go with that blue.
