View Full Version : Brand new to CSS : want to know if I can do this with CSS

I built what I want to do and saved as gif. You can view it here :

The right navigation shown is where I want to put icon/pics of my artwork. The open space to the left of that is where I want to image to appear when that corresponding icon is hovered over. I have a horizontal menu on top that when clicked, the right navigation will change out with new icons.

I just want to know if I can make this with CSS. What are my options to start building this?

Is the width of the layout going to change? If not then it would be quite simple to do. You would start out with your curved corners. You have a basic two column layout similar to this http://bonrouge.com/2c-hf-fixed.php
Just instead of float left on the right column use float:right.

You will probably have 3-4 images for the whole thing not counting the images that you will be displaying. If you don't mind the navigation being text then you will have the top border of the content along with that curved corner, the bottom border of the content along with the curved corner and then the curved thumbnail, and maybe the text above the thumbnails.

The width is fixed to answer your question.

Thank you. I will rough it through this. I get like half of what you wrote so I will see what I can do. This is my first attempt at anything with CSS.

Thanks again.
