When you create a professional website using CSS you don't create tables within the CSS document to format your page like you would a HTML document right?
You specify the locations of everything in the CSS document if I am thinking right?

CSS isnít HTML. So you canít create tables or paragraphs or anything in or with CSS. You only define styles there through the special CSS syntax and apply those styles to the HTML elements in that HTML document.
Does that make sense?

So CSS is completely about formatting your site by telling the images and such where you want them rather than filling tables with images?

Yes. The HTML file holds ALL of the content, and, ideally, the CSS files holds ALL of the formatting. You don't create any page elements in CSS, you just say what they should look like.

Exactly. For example look at http://csszengarden.com and study that page thoroughly. You will see that the actual HTML file has no images at all (and no tables at all), and the designs/layouts were applied just through CSS.
