View Full Version : Is this possible: equal height elements in CSS

Simple question.

But not a simple answer?

All I want to do is to have two elements, say divs, next to each other and of equal height.

These elements will be contained in a wrapper element, so setting height to 100% should work... no? At the moment I am using float: left to make sure that they display next to each other, but maybe that is interfering with the heights.

This is directly related to my other thread about columns, however the question is a bit different.

height: 100% should work -- as it will fit to the container element.

well it doesn't work for me...

Can anyone post some example code?

also I should point out that these elements need to be auto sizing, because if I have to set the height of them or their container in pixels, then there is no point to the question, because I could just set them all the same :)
