CSS Layout Problem - Please Help

I'm designing a css layout where I divided my page into several parts. Everythin is fine on both IE & FF. But the problem is....
When I resize my browser window & keep resizing it to a smaller size, the CONTENTS div moves beneath the left panel. While it should remain on its position. I want this div on the same position ( no matter what is the size of the browser window ). Please help me as my boss is gonna kill me for this.

Have you considered making the content position absolute?

Can you put a min-width on it so it won't go so narrow that it drops.
