my graphic artist has created a web photo album in photoshop. It has a thumbnail of each image across the bottom of the page that you can scroll left to rignt and when you click on the thumbnail it shows a larger image above it. The problem we are having is we want to link the larger image to the printable image located in another folder and is twice the size of the viewable one but we do not want it to show but to open up the download dialog box to save to the viewers local pc.

with graphics they will just open in a blank browser window if their url is clicked (eg: Click to download the image)... so it wont save permanantly on the visitors hard drive, but if you were to tell the user to right click it and then save it on their hard disk it would be stored.
if you needed to actually have that download dialouge you could always zip the image - thats the only solution i can think of - but i dont think it's worth it... why not just zip the whole gallery and have it all downloadable, rather than one picture at a time?
