I want to make site that is similar to youtube but doesn't use ffmpeg. It just uses which ever format the video is in when uploaded. Is there any easy solutions?

Another idea I wanted to know if it is possible to have a site that I can sell merchandise. Well merchandise that the stores have put on sale/clearance. But I would never have any merchandise at my location. The problem I would run into is if they sold it and did not inform me. Is there a way around this way. Or a way that I can have them login to a system to notify my company.
Any easy solutions for this either?

Thanks

Matt

On the first one, there may be scripts already written to help you out, but the site creation as with any site creation will require lots of work. So no, there are no easy solutions.

On the second one, I don't even know what you mean, really. You need to provide more detail, or be more descriptive as to how you will receive the data containing these clearance items for sale, and how you would possibly be able to sell them if you don't have any control over the inventory.

Easy solutions = garbage product

This would be easy. You create a MySQL database of the products and the store owner could login to delete any products that get sold, they would only be able to delete items from their store. They could even add items to your database.

No company is going to do your work for you. More likely you will be able to get an xml listing of the products . I think this method is called "drop shipping". Your just a store front. Since you want something easy, google oscommerce. Its open source.

That is our agreement. I would sell it. Send them the info. They send it out. I pay them.

Thanks for the suggestion I will check it out.

By reading the original post I gather that the poster has been in contact with the store.

Definitely. Not out of the blue. We have set stores we will be doing this for.
