Nevermind. I figured it out.

Pretty selfish if you ask me. This forum is for everyone not just you. The thing you should have done was post the solution and leave the original problem so others who have the same problem might have found a solution in a forum search.
You don't know what happened so please keep your judgments to yourself. If there was a way to delete my post I would.

I think you are missing my point.
It is better to leave your original problem and then post the solution so others can benefit from it. As it stands now you are using the forum thinking its just so you can get help. This is not the case. The forum is for EVERYONE to get help NOT just YOU.
I'm sure other members would agree with me. Seeing as how you are new here you probably don't even care.
You have a habit of jumping to conclusions.
1) I'm not missing your point. I understand it entirely.
2) I'm not new. I simply have not posted very many times using this username.
3) Your analysis that I believe the forum exists solely for my personal education is inaccurate.
4) Your statement that I "don't even care" is simply an extension of your earlier insult that I am "selfish." From where you derive this information about me I can't be sure, but I can assure you both judgments are inaccurate.
Hypothetically, suppose my problem earlier was that I had left out an angle bracket. Do you think posting that information would have helped anyone? Do you think someone would have read that and said "Gosh, I'm glad I read this post! I'll have to remember not to make stupid mistakes!" That's not what happened but it was something in a similar vein and that is why I opted to omit a solution from my post.
Finally, I would like it to be known that your judgments of me are misguided and that I find them, and you, offensive. I will read anything else you have to say but I am not interested in communicating directly with you ever again.

It took you 9 minutes from the time you posted the problem until you solved it and edited the post. If you had taken that same amount of time to try and solve your problem before you ran to a forum to ask someone else to find the problem for you, you and the forum probably would be the better for it.
If your original post clearly stated a symptom and a follow up post stated the reason and the fix, someone could have benefited from it. Some people just read forum posts to learn what and what not to do.
Just because you don't see the possibility of this occurring, is no reason to argue against it.
You must hang out with _Aerospace_Eng_
Hey come on, no need to argue with each other right? Rmpl, Aero does have a point though, it is more beneficial to leave your problem up, newbie coders, even if it is just a simple thing like leaving your bracket out, can learn from your code.
But seriously, there's no need to get so heated over it.

And there are lots of us with the same attitude. You aren't the only one who I will not work on problems for, but it is a short list. Consider yourself special.
*wait*
You probably already do...

Oddly enough, yes. Numerous times I've searched here or Google and found a trivial solution to something that I thought was a much bigger issues. Even if it didn't help directly, it jogged my thinking a bit.
The point everyone is making is that the forum is here to help everyone. Erasing your post because the solution was found is tantamount to saying, "Okay everyone, I found the solution so now I no longer need you guys." It's a little selfish.
I will read anything else you have to say but I am not interested in communicating directly with you ever again.
Considering you're directing that to a guy who has close to 10,000 posts selflessly helping others (and virtually no posts asking for help), I don't think he's going to mind too much. ;)
