.search in Opera 4

Is there any way to replace the RegExp-Function string.search to see if a string contains a searched string?

In Opera 4 it doesn't work.

indexOf() is another way to do it, but frankly, i don't think anything's going to work in Opera 4. i don't think anyone is using Opera 4, either.

i agree with joh6nn
the people who download opera are the type of users who know what is going on at least a little bit (otherwise they would just use whatever browser came with there computer)
in which case they would want there version to be up to date
(at least i would and im sure many would agree)

Yes, i agree, too. I know that no one uses Opera 4, but i wanted to make a skript to recognize so much Browser as possible. Just for fun.
