i have bought a compac laptop. its hard disk capacity is 120GB. but in the window it is showing only 30GB. in the bios set up it shows its exact size. i tried to do partition by partition magic 8 but i failed.it shows too many error. for info my apllication software is windows vistahome hasic.now what to do to find out my all memory in HDD.:confused:

It sounds like the 120GB drive only contains one 30GB partition. If that is the case, you should be able to expand it to fill the drive using partition magic.

Partition Magic is not compatable with Vista. What you might have to do is find a linux partition manager using a LiveCD and repartition the harddrive.

I'd recommend Acronis Disk Director 10, but I'm not sure whether it works on Vista. I haven't tried it and I can't seem to find any documentation on the net as to its Vista support status.
