Access database replace characters

Hi i have access database and i want to search it through my web page but the problem is that I cannot use the character replace (*) for replacing one, more or zero characters. I also tried with % from SQL but doesn't work. Can you help with this?

The * should work for Jet (Access).
Are you getting an error, or just incorrect matches?
Is this a string (text) field, a number, or date?
What was the exact query, including any single/double quotes?
