I get this error after registering a user. This is phpBB version 2.0.22, and I have done nothing to it beside install a simple "disable registration" mod which never even touched the emailer.php. Here is the PHP file:

well i would ask on the phpbb site if i was you but, make sure that you have your smtp / pop3 information in the admin panel correct, sometimes that can affect it.

Their site is down currently. They had a double-harddrive failure apparently.
