I have almost completed a website. However, I think I might be faced with a problem concerning the images. I have one folder where all the pages and images are for the website. The differnet categories of the website are split into sub-dictories and the images are placed in teh root. So there isnt any folder for the images, so, theres no /images/.

This is what I want to create, but ofcourse I want it to update on all my website pages aswell - otherwise I would have to go around to each page and update the image path individually!

So how can I do this via Dreamweaver. Can I drag the images into the image folder using the DW file manager on the right-hand side column?

IF you created all your pages in DW as a DW site, then yes, moving an image to a different location should trigger DW to prompt you with the question to update all links to that image.
It would be a better idea however to thing stuff like this through before you start creating pages. There is of course always a chance that your insights change along the way, but giving file organisation some thought up front is worth the effort.

Okay, I'll give this a test with one image and see if it does that update for me.

Actually, I did think this all through, I had a set folder with all my images in it, but when I was configuring my folder as a site root, it appears to have messed things up for me. Its not major, thank god its just the images and need transfering.

Yeah; as I indicated, one can have the best plans in the world, but things do tend to change. I don't work with DreamWeaver a whole lot, but this updating of all references when you move stuff around is one of the more compelling features and a real time saver.

I found it frustrutating with my server that I had to make my own image folder. The company just assumed I knew how to do this.
