Bad delay in windows media player

Hello
Im having a bad bug in my laptop, where windows media player 9 will give me a 5 seconds delay (display "connecting...") every time i try to load a midia file (local files too).

There was a related fix in msdn to fix a delay bug in web streaming midia, but im getting this delay with local files.

if anyone has a hint, or where i could try to search for a solution...thanks.

This sounds like a codec-issue.

What u can do, is get a codec-pack, what hopefully solve your issue. I happen to have on some websites, streaming problems too, the sound if often out of syn with the video.

Hi ! Wondering if you ever solved the problem of the long delay for WMP to play local files? I have been on the phone with MS and they have taken over my PC and tried numerous things. So far no improvment.. They will be attempting to sole it tonight at about 7pm EST again... I will post if they find problem. Just wondered if you found a solution...
