PHP Postcode, Town

does anyone know where i could get a MySQL db with postcodes and then towns that those postcode correspond to?

i think this goes in php because i will develop all of my search in php. any help would be very welcome!

Only place I know is buying it from Royal Mail. It's expensive too from what I've heard

You could always compile your own database of postal codes... start working from your postal code outwards. It'd be a lot of work however but as far as I know there isn't a complete database full of them.

i could do that but its only for a very small project.

all you need to do what you suggested is find a list of postal areas and postal disricts here is the information you are looking for. Have fun typing this in :)
