So you are looking for a web designer to work for your web designing site? Thats funny. Are you willing to pay for such a person?

You shouldn't be asking for help if you are trying to be a paid web designerSo are you saying through your signature that if you ask for technical help, or even an honest opinion from somebody and you are a paid web designer, you shouldn't be charging people? That's the dumbest statement I have ever read in my life, it's influences, opinions and sharing ideas is what make someone a good designer... I have never meat a designer who knew everything there is to know...

What I'm saying is that you shouldn't take on a job that you know you can't do because of your lack of expertise. I see a lot of people come here saying "Hi my client wants me to do this but I don't know how." Well if you didn't know how then why didn't you just pass on the job in the first place?

I understand what you are saying oh too well. After the whole Myspace "phenomenon" everyone is an instant webdesigner/developer.

Yea I think that statement is too broad maybe you need to refine it, I mean a statement like that especially on a forum makes no sense... Forum's like these are about helping people...

Also the way you justified it still doesn't make sense, you say you shouldn't take on a job if you know you can't handle it. So are you saying if designer's take on a job and then get stuck on something throughout the project, they shouldn't be taking the job on? I don't know about you... But I learn from every job I do, that's the whole point isn't it? Any designer who decided to stop learning really shouldn't be a designer in my opinion...

You really aren't getting it. I'm saying is if you KNOW you can't do something then don't take the job. Learn to be good at what you do. Learning as you go shouldn't be something you are doing when you do work for a client.

You definitely shouldn't be learning as you go, but I don't see anything wrong with learning something NEW...

See thats what most of these people are doing. They say "I have this client but I don't know how to do this and that can someone help me with it?"

See its something they don't know how to do currently so then try learning how to do it by asking other people to help them with THEIR work. Its like us doing a students homework. They should learn how to do their homework on their own.

Now we've totally hijacked this thread so thanks for pointing out something off topic.
