HTML / CSS Web Developer & Programmer

Open to all residents in U.S. and Canada. Freelance position. Selected candidate not required to relocate.


Position Description
We are looking for a competent developer who cares about the details (standards, compatibility, fonts, spacing, alignment, flexibility, consistency) and who enjoys creating quality interfaces and websites to be viewed by millions.

Your role involves working with front-end designers to make transform cutting-edge designs into standards-compliant HTML/CSS code, as well as working with back-end developers to make the site dynamic and integrate databases.

The primary technical skill required for this job is the coding of HTML and CSS to meet the programming needs of Rareview on a variety of projects. The developer in this position will be responsible for taking charge of the HTML and CSS coding standards for the company and will work closely with the rest of the small team including designers and developers.

JavaScript and front-end AJAX/dynamic HTML skills would be a plus, but the main need at this point is for top HTML and CSS expertise.

Like the rest of us you are a creative, self starter who is comfortable working as part of a team and is used to working in projects with deadlines.

Required Skills
• HTML (XHTML 1.0 & related)
• CSS (style and layout)
• Knowledge of web standards, browser compatibility, quirks
• Attention to detail, project follow-through and completion
• High level understanding of ASP/ASP.NET, relational databases and SQL.

Secondary Skills a Plus
• JavaScript
• Front end AJAX / dynamic HTML
• ASP
• Flash
• Photoshop

Responsibilities
• Works with visual designers to build websites and applications
• Produces error-free, well-documented, cross-browser compliant code
• Does not use editors such as Dreamweaver to code
• Test code output in a variety of browsers/OS's
• Insure that code is pixel perfect containing no flaws
• Communicate extensively with your team.
• Follow standards and structures established within the company.
• Always deliver your very best and strive towards improvement.
