Fake Antivirus programmes on computer

Someone in my family has managed to download fake antivirus programmes (one of them has a spelling mistake) I have tried deleting them but claim to be in use. Is there anyway I can rid of them? I have seen dedicated programmes to deleting files on a computer. I have run AVG on the computer and this doesn't detect. This was only the regular version on AVG in December.

If know what I can do to delete these then please advise.

Restart, and press F8 before the windows bar comes up, select safe mode.

Try to delete the files now, it should be not in use. If this is not the issue, find the programs name, and hit start, run "msconfig" and goto startup, de-select the program to boot the next time, and reboot / delete it.
