Using what? You need to be a little more specific and explain yourself better.

will these images fade in and out in a movie or on a roll-over or on-click? We need a bit more detail.

If you want them to fade in a movie, right click on your image while its on the stage, choose convert to symbol>convert the image to a "graphic"

go up to your timeline, click on the first frame that your graphic is in and copy that frame, go to your next keyframe (probly about 2-3 seconds down the timeline) and paste your keyframe.

Now, while still having your second keyframe selected, click on the graphic on your stage. In the properties inspector their is a color option on the right side, in the drop down choose "alpha" and set the alpha to 0 (this is transparancy)

Now go back to the first key frame your graphic is on, click on the keyframe and go to your properties inspector and set your tween to motion. This will fade your graphic from 100% to 0% opacity in the time you set.

If you want the fade to be due to an action (i.e. roll-over) there is a bit more involved in the action script. Let everyone know what your intent is and hopefully somone will be able to get you the solution.
