I incorporated all of the info from http://developer.mozilla.org/en/docs/Core_JavaScript_1.5_Reference into one tight and neat little program for the programmer on the go.

Only problem is, I no longer have a website and have no where to host it for people to download.

Anyone know of a good site where I can host it so whoever wants it can have it?

Heres some screenshots:

its free to whoever wants it. if a lot of people like it then id be glad to make a newer version every once in a while with edits and revisions.

Overall, not particularly ergonomic. And well, you're probably better off with a help viewer (http://www.mozilla.org/projects/help-viewer/) based approach. Or even building a CHM, Microsoft supplies the compiler for that free somewhere (can't be bothered looking for it, but a google should find it).

Mozilla Help is not a bad idea, but I think M$ Help sucks almost as much as Acrobat Reader ;)

Rappa, I like it. Great work! It's very nice of you to donate this to the developer community. I'll be glad to host it for you. Shoot me a PM and we'll discuss it. I may be gone for the rest of the day, but I'll be back late tonight.

I think it's a great effort Rappa and a much appreciated contribution to the developer community.

I'd like to test it out for you....

And I think there's probably a gazillion places you could have the file hosted for free: http://www.google.com/search?q=free+file+hosting&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a

Let us know how to download the file when it's available...

I would love to have a copy, and here's an idea..... why not get a blog and put it there?

If no, I have a site and I can put it there in a separate folder for you and you can post where it is.

this place needs to fire all the moderaters here.

gmn17, what the heck are you talking about? CF has great moderators. And besides - you can't fire someone who isn't "hired".

this place needs to fire all the moderaters here.

lol, and why's that? Without us this place would be flooded with spam, and annoying users would roam around in packs!
[edit:] And if that was in reverence to my first post: I stand by my comment! Rappa has done a great job for sure, pulling a project to completion isn't an easy task. But you can't sidestep the obvious flaws, the overall usability of the program isn't too high. Not to mention the ability to update the program easily is pretty limited, whereas like I said a CHM or Help Viewer based approach is just more logical...not to mention more ergonomic in respect to navigation...AND with those two approaches you can use integrated examples.

Rappa,

I downloaded it...It must have taken a lot of work to put this together....

The navigation is a little confusing and not completely intuitive, with the hierarchy of submenus, you could get lost trying to find what you;re looking for...

I recommend adding a search feature...that would help immensely....

And I see you've indexed a lot of the language constructs and the different objects (which is great), but I had a hard time finding specific methods and properties, or it just didn;t seem like you listed all of them.

Just a little constructive criticism...with some improvement, you could have yourself a very useful tool --- not only for developers, but it would serve as something that you could use to market yourself and your skills...

Good luck, and keep us informed of future updates...And on the subject of future updates, you might consider starting a mailing/waiting list for people who are interested in your product and future updates...I would put my name and email address on that list...Just something to consider...It's hard to keep track of your progress otherwise, because it seems that news of your development has spanned several forum threads already...

Edit: Your tool could also make better use of color to highlight specific sections and to help separate navigation from content. Try to emulate the visual presentation of a windows help file and/or even the w3schools.org layout. Or you might just try creating and compiling a CHM file, if you know how to do that...

thanks a lot, yeah i know its a little confusing, but all other methods i tried were even more confusing, so i tried that and went far so i really couldnt turn back then. but if you have any updates or want me to update anything please post, as for the next version, im hoping to have seperate pages for all properties, methods, and parameters. and whatever else any of you guys would like me to. as for the search feature, i like that, unless i can think of a better way to navigate, or clear it up a little. and ill work on a mailing list.

Ok, well what's wrong with a tree and then paged methods/properties/examples etc?

It requires a version of the .NET framework that I evidently don't have: v2.0.50727

bummer

Thanks, Mhtml. I'll pass tho. I don't dare take a chance on having a problem with this puter - I've got too much work to do tomorrow :)
