Can you create a Guestbook and a Message Board using ASP? If so, where can I download a free code?

Hmmm....why would you ask if you can make one and then ask for free code...Me thinks you have no knowlege of asp and downloading a script would cause a great deal of confusion. I suggest first you learn a little asp.
www.w3schools.com/asp - Good asp tutorial
www.liquidrage.com - Good SQL tutorial
www.hotscripts.com - free asp Message boards/guestbooks here
www.webwizguide.com/asp - free asp Message boards/guestbooks also here
www.scriptsearch.com - pretty much the same as hotscripts although bigger I think

I assume he knows HTML and he found a host (such as Brinkster) to host his files.
He then recently found out he can use ASP, not know what ASP is he looks around the host's site a bit. Then finds out he might be able to do some stuff with it.
He then finds this forum or knew about this forum to help him with html.
He then posts this post.
Makes sence to me. But Mhtml is correct.
pharma, you need to learn some basics of ASP before you get into forums and guestbooks. If you have a problem (lots of newbies do this), you will come on to the forum and ask what the problem is, then have us fix it, and you would not of learned anything. You'll help yourself if you start learning ASP. If you are just into HTML right now, you will be able to get better at both languages faster if you force yourself to want to become better.
I know alot of ASP, and I wouldn't of learned any of it, unless I wanted to better myself. I feel proud and happy that I know ASP, and now I can also do anything anyone else can, but it does take time.
So don't ask for a forum or a free guestbook, ask for a tutorial on how to make your own. You'll feel better when you can say you made it. :)

You oughta hook up with glenngv - he's an expert from the Philippines, and perhaps knows more than anyone I've seen in this forum about ASP (including me). He even speaks better English than I do, and I'm from the USA. :)

Lol, I have just put up my demo of QUICKboard my mini forum.
If you would like I could customize one for you. It is completely skinable and all elements can be manipulated from 1 file.
It's still under construction, but it may be what you are looking for. It is quite small because I don't want a heap of features in it hence QUICKboard!

You will need to register to post and test it out. Once registered just login straight away, you don't really need to activate your account coz I disabled that.

thanks whammy for the compliments! :o
Not that expert really :)
Maybe just a firm grasp of ASP but not all.
I've just been programming ASP for 3 years and I learned it from experience without a book or attending trainings.
Now I'm starting to study ASP.NET during my free time at work ;)
Back to the topic at hand.
I just googled for free asp guestbook and forum and here's what I got:

All forums should be ok to use and understand
I suggest any forum that you pick, you read the read me and follow ALL instrustions. Don't do it fast. You are new ot ASP and you wont be able to understand any of it if you skip through it.
Yes you will get problems on what ever host you have, but that might only be because of something simple that is not the forums fault if you read the instructions carefully.
If you have a problem installing any forum, read through the instructions again and post up your question on these forums, we will be able to solve your problem!

Im trying to do some experimentation with ASP but unfortuantely the VieBoard that I said a while ago did not hve any instruction with it. So, definitely I'll go to those tutorial links you gave to me....
Anyway, thanks Morgoth for the offer.... I'll post all my questions here again... if there will be.

Hey, I can't get VieBoard.com or .net to come up. It loads half a page and then times out. Did you get to download it? Can you zip it and mail it to me? (Click here to email me. (mark@imaginekitty.com)) I'd like to look at the code.
MHTML could I look at yours, too? Is it available for download?
Just looking into how much this is going to take. Ya know. I got the winter off and this is exactly what I was looking to get into.:)
