View Full Version : Need Help-Files lost

I have a college degree from Wilkes College in Wilkes barre, PA. They can't find my records. I have been trying to straighten this matter out for 2 years and they absolutely refuse to help me.

They had a major flood over 30 years ago but insist they didn't lose any files and then they said they transfered everything over to the computer from file cards. Somewhere along the way my BA in business got lost and it cost me a 6 figure job. I don't have any of my records anymore either. I'm out of options, is there anyway I can re-instate my records?

Is this a sollution for the institute where your records are, or at your own computer?

They were at the the college admissions department of Wilkes College

Are they not willing or not able to help you?

I would say find out what accrediting body is affiliated with the college and contact them. Perhaps they can help. There should be some way of reconstructing your records so that you aren't left high and dry.

I guess they got as frustrated as I was and just refuse to do anymore. I've tried everything including other agencies. Unfortunately this was 43 years ago and I can't even remember who my teachers were.

I was just going to suggest getting ahold of your adviser but yeah, 43 years ago might be a stretch to do that.

For what it may be worth, try contacting your state representatives.

Or, try writing to a newspaper. Maybe a little publicity about your situation might turn up some leads. Local papers are always interested in local people, so you should be able to get an interview. Just call the paper and ask. Someone reading the paper might be an ex-professor or student who remembers you, or may be in a position to help.

Thank You all for sympathy and recommendations. I was so frustrated I was going to look for a hacker but I haven't followed thru on it....yet.
