I am trying to get a link to open in target=_blank and have a popunder go on at the same exact time... but in IE... it lets the popunder go through but the target=_blank link gets blocked by the IE popup blocker.... in Firefox it does just fine (pops up the target=_blank URL as well as the popunder)... but IE has such strict popup blockers...

See at http://nightstarproductions.com/popunder.html

It is really important that I get the link to go in target=_blank as well as have the pop under go on as soon as they click the link

Try this:

<html>
<head>
<script type="text/javascript">
function popunder() {

profile = window.open('http://www.yahoo.com','','width=1,height=1,left=1,top=1').blur();
window.focus();
setTimeout("profile.close()",1000);
window.open("http://www.google.com");
}
</script>
</head>
<body>
<a href="#" onclick="popunder(); return false;"> CLICK </a>
</body>
</html>

it still blocks google.com (and lets the popunder go through)
