Firstly I would like to apologise because I have asked a few times before on how to make the most right hand column as long as the longest column. But this time I have provided an example.

As you will notice column 3 is set at 4100 px to ensure the footer actually fits underneath the columns.

Please advise how or what I need to do to make column 3 the same length as column 2.

(thanks, this is very important to me lol)

It might be very important to you but multiple members have given you examples. They've even dumbed down the examples so you could hopefully understand them. If you actually read the ideas given you to you by others you would understand fully what to do. So now stop reposting the same question and listen to the advice given to you by others. Do some tutorials if you have to.

I have tried many of the examples given, I have used the overflow: auto but this only works in IE. In Firefox it removes the image tags so I need something that works cross-browser. Thats the real problem I am having.

Does anyone know how I can get overflow: auto to work on Firefox?

Overflow property (http://www.blooberry.com/indexdot/css/properties/position/overflow.htm) works in FF and IE both. Always has. If it didn't work for you then you either implimented it wrong or expected it to do something it can't.

<head>
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en" lang="en">

<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"/>
<title>PowerOverWireless.com - Tesla</title>

<style type="text/css">
</head>

Needs to be:

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en" lang="en">
<head>

<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"/>
<title>PowerOverWireless.com - Tesla</title>

<style type="text/css">
<!-- all you style info etc. -->
</head>

Then this:

<p><img src="/images/nikola1.png" width="220" height="293" alt="Nikola Tesla" border="0" style="float: right" <img style="border: white;"</>

Should be this:

<p><img src="/images/nikola1.png" width="220" height="293" style="float: right; border: 0;" alt="Nikola Tesla" />

Too get you footer to clear, change this:

#footerbox {
font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
text-align: center;
font-weight: bold;
font-size: 65%;
width: 95%;
padding: 10px;
margin: 0px;
}

..to this:

#footerbox {
clear: both;
font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
text-align: center;
font-weight: bold;
font-size: 65%;
width: 95%;
padding: 10px;
margin: 0px;
}

How's that?

Gary

YES, thanks Excavator and Craft Creative. Ive got to this stage so far

http://worktips.co.uk/teslatest.html

This is brilliant, for some reason the footer is idented on IE but this another big step in the right direction. This is a great site which supports the implemtation of CSS and web standards.

Thanks so much.

NP.

Maybe next time you can make it a bit easier on us all: either by being more specific - or more general with questions.

Sometimes it can be more useful to ask: "why is this box breaking out of this one?" or "how do I position this box here?" rather than to assume it's a problem with one specific css property.

Kind regards,

Gary

Your re-using #wrapper on your footer? That's why it's jogged over. Check the validator for simple stuff like this. (http://validator.w3.org/check)

Cheers dude, I struggle with the validator. Im just getting use to cross-browser issues. The V tells me to remove some of these ">" which skews it all up in IE but I am getting there. Once the design is laid I am really going to on tidying the CSS up, Im sure there are divs in there I dont use! but its getting there.
