records not going into linked database

i have an asp script that inserts a record into a talbe that is linked to another table on a networked computer on the server.

when i insert it directly in access on the server it works.
when i use an asp script to insert it - it goes into the first table but gives an error - file in use or you don't have the proper permissions and does not go into the second table

please advise?? i tied setting the second db to completely shared with all permissions and it didn't help and the file is not open.

It could be the full permission on the networks and also check the IIS.

did you make sure you are not submitting with asp while the file is still open by access?
