I'm a web designer with no way of paying for a domain name, but I need one soon. I can't get a paypal account or a debit/credit card. My question is: is there anyone ou there who would be willing to buy me a domain? I mightbe able to do some design work in return if you're interested. PM or email me at rs.pixelhero@gmail.com.

Why not just go with a free subdomain? Why can't you get a paypal account or credit/debit card? Is that a restriction to your country or something? Is it that you don't have the many or you have no way of sending the money?

I have the money, but I have no way of sending it. So close, but so far.

Why not just find a small local web company close to you.
Most web design companies have reseller accounts and would be glad to organise your domain/hosting.
Just go to their offices and give them the cash.

ah the thing is I live in the back of beyond where there aren't any local web companies.

Call 'em up, arrange to send a Postal/Money Order.
Honestly, how difficult can it be?

You can set up a Paypal account that works directly off of a bank account.

Yeah, but it sounds like he hasn't got a bank account -even basic accounts come with a debit facility?
Maybe you can set Paypal account up with a basic savings book account, but it's news to me?
Put it this way: if you can't buy something online - you go to the shop and pay cash - no different for domains/hosting really - or have people forgotten there's a reall offline world out there?
Seriously, I never pay upfront for hosting or domains - my friendly reseller sets it all up on request - then invoices me with the bill - which I can pay whichever way I choose, within 30 days of the invoice.

i have a bank account, but I do not have the rights to use a debit card. And, no offense intended, but when you live in a internet-poor place like rural Nova Scotia, we just don't have these mysterious "shops" to pay cash at. so, if no one is willing to help me, I request this topic be closed.

In case you hadn't noticed, you have received help. It may not have been the kind of help you really wanted; i.e., work done in exchange for purchasing a domain on your behelf, but you did get help nonetheless. You can't say that no one here is willing to help you.
I did a little Googling on your behalf and found this domain registration site (http://www.domainsnext.com/index.html) which takes both checks and money orders as payment. If you have money as you say you do, this should solve your problem. Don't like that one? Search Google for others.
