Creating a rectangle with rounded corners in Photoshop

You know how you can use the Rectangle Marquee Tool in photoshop, create a rectangle, and then edit >> stroke to create a line on the rectangle?

I've been trying to do the same thing but with rounded corners on the rectangle rather than straight angles.

I use the same steps with the rectangle marquee tool, set the "feather" option to 20, then it creates the rectangle with the rounded corners... BUT when I go to select edit >> stroke, the line it creates on the rectangle is actually not solid but rather like an outer glow fading away from the line...

I was wondering if you could guide me in creating a rectangle with rounded corners so that I can put a solid line on the rectangle.

The following sample will create a rectangle with rounded corners with a black solid line, adjust to fit your needs:

File + New with background color set to "White"
Set the foreground color to "White"
Set the radius to something like "10px"
Select the "Rounded Rectangle Tool"
Draw your rectangle
Select your rectangle + right click + Rasterize Layer
Edit + Stroke + set the color to black or something (not white)

Thanks for the tips Martial... You lost me at step number 6...

I drew the rectangle and what came up was a rectangle with a white body and a thin black border on it... How do you select it?? Keep in mind I have document is bigger than the rectangle... When I hit "select" the entire document is selected and when I hit rasterize... the rectangle disapears.

If you can clarify that would be great!

How do you select it??

To select your rectangle just click on your rectangle.

BB FlashBack, you can export to flash, powerpoint, wmv, exe etc... Also you can add images, balloon text and voice very easily and quickly.
