Hi folks,

I was wondering if anyone could tell me of anywhere that sells webmaster traffic? I am trying to populate a new webmaster resource message board.

Alternatively, I would love to hear of any tips on how to do this, for example running a competition.

Um... not sure of anywhere that "sells" webmaster traffic but this forum is a good place to start! Try posting your site in the reviews section and ask for some opinions, and if people like it they will probably go back it.

As for ways to get traffic, first make your site look nice, but not too graphical for dial-up users. Make it simple and so that it doesn't require a registration/login to view posts and etc. Run competitions every once and awhile - they always work well. Um... other than that until your community becomes really active and full of members make sure you visit it and post often, and even once it does become busier still hang around and keep tabs on the happenings - people really do notice/appreciate admins who care (WA)!

Good Luck!

I have had similar problems. Traffic is a hard thing to "obtain". I have used Google adword. It works extremely well, seeing how you only pay when someone goes to your site. The downfall of this is that you get a whole lot of people that want to see your site, but no one really joins. And if they do join, they post 1 hello and vanish off the face of the earth. My forum (http://www.seektrueknowledge.com) is proof of that.

Honesty, the best way to obtain traffic is word of mouth. Get friends and family to check it out and tell others.

I hope things pick up for you.
