How true is that? Every word of it, I do. lol.

How many of you have something in common with this pie chart?

Are they sure the swearing slice is large enough? And where is the "tearing your hair out" slice?

I'm not a designer, but as a developer I'd say;
50% - thinking of taking teh napz'
50% - wishing I would've became a plumber.

I'm inclined to agree with it. The slice sizes could be changed a bit, but I agree with the point that the chart is trying to express.

I disagree with the slice about tables. It is so much easier and quicker to set up most layouts with CSS rather than tables and CSS can handle many layouts that tables can't. I would hate having to force the design to fit a grid structure (table) rather than having a free format with overlapping elements where required.

I agree with everything else though except that there should be another huge section for the trouble involved in converting your Javascript into JScript so that it can work on Internet Exploder as well as real web browsers.

Which Internet Exploder, Micro$oft Internet Exploder or Windoze Internet Exploder?

Very good! :D

The Swearing segment could do with a bit more detail though:

Time swearing at the client.
Time where the client's swearing at you.
Time swearing 'cos the brief's too detailed.
Time swearing 'cos there is no brief.
Time swearing at the kettle to hurry up and boil.
Time swearing everytime the phone begins to ring.
Time swearing just because it makes you feel good.
etc. :) (kidding, apart from the kettle)

Aren't they the same?

WIE is IE7. MSIE is anything older than IE7. ;-)
It is a minor difference but a difference nonetheless.

That chart is amazing! Where did you ever find such a thing! And it is so correct too - especially about the tables part, for me atleast. :D

As far as CSS is concerned - yes.

As far as Javascript vs JScript is concerned - NO as no version of IE runs Javascript. They may run different versions of JScript though.

heh, for me the red (ish) and purple sections should be changed/merged with the grey(ish), section. I do such a lot of swearing and banging my head off the desk, it really is unbelieveable.

BTW, whats this about JavaScript and JScript? Have I been away that long?? I thought javaScript worked in all browsers (if enabled) and VB Script worked only in IE.

JScript is Microsoft's Active Scripting flavour of JavaScript, and it has been implemented in IE since version 3.0 as far as I know. Basically, JScript adds a few extensions to the JavaScript specification. While everybody else implements JavaScript, MS implements JavaScript plus the JScript extensions, which makes it no longer JavaScript, but an extension or perhaps even a "child" language of JavaScript. Of course, now we have ECMAScript, the international standard that was born of Netscape's JavaScript and Microsoft's JScript specifications. It is very close to JavaScript though, so ECMAScript is frequently interchanged with JavaScript.
As for VB Script, what you said is true, bazz.
