I am planning a cms for my site and was wondering. Is it possible for me to submit the .zip of a new template. This will be the download file (the zip). Also though would the server be able to automatically unzip the contents of the zip, put the folder contained into a demos fold and then i can use that as the preview without uploading myself then having to input the URL to it.

Example, I submit gangster.zip. This is a gangster template. They go to the gangster.zip download for download and go to extracted files to view the demo which would be index.html and contained images all in a gangster folder extracted from the zip automatically by server.

Hard to explain :( If you can help its greatly appreciated.

Hello there,

You should be able to do this easily.

Here is a couple of tutorials that demonstrate how to read files contained within a zip archive.

http://www.maconlinux.net/php-online-manual/en/ref.zip.html

http://www.phpfreaks.com/phpmanual/page/ref.zip.html

I know you are after a script that would uncompress an archive, but you should be able to do that once you follow one of these tutorials. it is a simple read and write operation :)

Good Luck.
