Im having a problem with my H1's at http://www.lostseed.com/
They are good on firefox but the height wont showup in IE,
in firefox you can see it shows the little folder tab on the left of each h1,
in IE its just a default size.

(I cleaned out stuff that prolly doesnt apply)

h1, h2 {
padding: 0px 0 0 8px;
margin: 15px 0 15px 0;
height: 41px;
border-top: 1px solid #91858b;
background: #827a7e url(/images/content/fade-bg-h1.gif) repeat-x;
clear: both;
position: relative;
z-index:50;
}

Heres a bug fix that doesnt work:

/* mac hide \*/
* html h1, * html h2, * html h3, * html h4, *html h5 {height:1%}
/* end hide*/

Also tried:
*>html h1 {he\ight: auto;} /* for IE5/Mac */
and the html > body one, I am unsure why this is doing this.

I don't have a good testing setup for IE but it looks like it's doing what you are asking it to:

in IE its just a default size.

* html h1, * html h2, * html h3, * html h4, *html h5 {height:1%}

The * html hack targets IE (under 7) only; in this case you are telling IE to make the headings an "auto" size as it treats "height: 1%" as "min-height: 1%".
