I've been trying to work on a project and can't figure out how to do it. Is there anyone that is generous enough to maybe give it a try? This will be a popular project when it's finished. You will get full credit!

Okay, so this site would be pretty basic -

A user creates an account, and can basicly publish his work on the site. He has his own profile and a list of all his work that was published, and he can put his work in certain categories.. (ex. poetry, prose.. he can even further categorize it by genre - action, drama, humorous, etc).

Guests and members can browse this database of poetry and prose, and comment on it in a forum like environment. (Not a comment-like environment - if you don't know exactly what I mean by this, ask me to explain it better.)

Any takers?

Edit: The user control panel should include fonctions such as "Publish" "Store" "Publish as Draft"

Publish will put the work in the database and available to others to view / comment, etc.

Store (or Private?) could be made to store the work in the database but not make it public. (We could even have a password protected function?)

Publish as draft would put it in a category called "Draft" - so it would be marked as unfinnished work basicly.

Thanks so much,

Tellerz

doing it? nah.

But maybe I can lead you to what you my try and make work. Something like wordpress can be set up to have multiple users. One set to admin so as to have full control (probally you). The rest would have access to add delete etc... but not nessecarily have access to doing any thign to kill the site.

you could have a main page in which people would hit and set it up where th elast few entries were listd quip style on the home page. by using something like wordpress you could "easily" have categories and users. each link would then take a viewer to the appropriate page. Basically like blogger does. a group of linked blogs on the backend. It would entail passing a lot of variables around but could be done. Having it where comments post to a BB would be a little trickier.

Maybe at the end of each writing the "comments" link would say "discuss" when a user first clicks on it, it would check the database for a post about that. If there wasn't opne it would start one. if there was, it would just take them to that page. see a lot of variables.

What you require is a lot of work. You can't expect someone to do it for nothing. Credit on the project doesn't mean much. I guess what I'm trying to say for the amount of work you want done you should be expecting to pay money for it.

I realize it is a lot of work, however this site will be 'ad supported'. I believe it has a great potential to grow, and whatever profits will be made from it will be redirected to those who have helped this project grow.

Sounds like a cms[content management system] might do the trick for you. Check out globalmoxie.com. They have a package that will do what you are looking for.

Hope that helps!

Nah Global Moxie doesn't help to much.

I'm willing to pay for who ever has the capablility to do this. I will pay through via paypal or mail. Here's how the payment will work: You will show me your progress and what you have done so far. Once you have reached about halfway through with the project, you will get your payment. It's your choice on paypal or mail. If you're interested, reply this post with your range of payment that you want.

I've actually got a blog code right now. I just need a skilled programmer to set it up how I want. It probably wouldn't take to long. Is there anyone who can?

If this is to be paid work, you need to post this in the Paid work offers and requests (http://www.codingforums.com/forumdisplay.php?f=36) forum. Be sure to read that forum's rules prior to posting.
