Hi all,
Since a past few weeks I have been seeing this kind of effect in every site I've visited. I guess this is the hottest trend these days.

Check this page:
http://enhancedinnovations.com/2006/11/13/south-marsh/

Click on the image "South Marsh". A pop up image appears in the same window which freezes the background content and when you click on the image it disappears.

Is it done with CSS or JavaScript? Please guide me and if there's any good tutorial for this one then plz do mention the link.

Your help is higly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Best regards,
Soulfly

There is actually an updated version of this v.2.0

The big difference is that version 2 can have images grouped so that you can switch between images. Also some bug fixes.

Here is a sample of lightbox 2.0 in action at my pro-bono site HERE (http://harvestwhitecounty.com/main_gallery_pastorday2006.php).

Version 2.0 link:

This thing is so easy to set-up and cross-browser compatible.
If you need help let me know.
