Hi Everyone!

I would appreciate some advice on how to proceed to make a gradient (which is what i believe it to be) similar to this icon.

I already have the shape of the icon done, it's just the gradient I am uncertain of.

Thanks in advance for any help.

That highly depends on the graphics software you are using.

Absolutely.

Try applying a gradient to your image first, then manipulate your curves (Command-M or Ctrl-M) into an S-shape to increase the contrast. You'll have to play with the settings; I don't have a recommended number to give you.

You can also add bevel to your image to add depth and dimension to the cog. Double-clicking on the layers menu will bring up a menu with options for color, distance, etc. It's a lot of stuff. Again, experiment.

Just make sure your Photoshop file is in layers so you can manipulate different parts of the image.
