Can Lotus Notes Output An XML File?

I typically use PHP and have found it very simple to use it to create a file (specifically an RSS feed) containing information from a database which is read and parsed as XML.

However I've just been saddled with a client who is using Notes on a Domino 6.5.4 server and I'm wondiering if it's possible to do the same thing in this situation?

Notes is the XML compliant product and besides the standard tools you should be able to construct the XML string based on the dynamic information off the Lotus Notes views.
