Microsoft Word Indenting for Roman Numerals

I recently typed a topic outline for a research paper, but my teacher marked the space between the roman numerals and the actual text as being too large. Try as I might, I cannot seem to make them closer together without disturbing the consistent alignment. Thus far, I've tried changing preferences under Format > Bullets and Numbering, but nothing works. Any suggestions? Thanks :)

highlight the bullets in question, and right click on the bullets, and its in one of those menus....
