I have the following code

.tholidays table{
padding:0px;
float:left;
border: thin solid #aeaeae;
border-collapse:collapse;
}
.tholidays td{
padding:0px;
border: thin solid #aeaeae;
border-collapse:collapse;

}

but the table is still showing as a non collpsable table(meaning i see spaces between the table lines). what am i doing wrong?

Any presentational attributes still left in the markup that interfere with your styles? Also, IE6 has issues with collapsing borders.

i don't think so -- wouldnt' this overwrite a general table css definition anyway?

I just tested your CSS rules and they seem to work fine in Firefox 2 and Internet Explorer versions 6 and 7. A few notes though: The border-collapse property only works on table elements, so there’s no reason to apply it to table cells. You can also drop the unit identifier (i.e., px) on values of zero.
