onMouseOver help

I have a series of buttons along the top of the page, when you mouse over them a textbox pops up with a breakdown of where each button will take you. I am trying to create a delay before the text box pops up. Please help. Code upon request.

The 1000 is a measurement if time in milliseconds, so here 1 second. 2000 for 2, 3000 for 3, etc...
