Hi,

Can anyone recommend a reliable web hosting service here in the UK that has good technical support should something go wrong, and preferably the facility to contact a humanoid by telephone if something does go wrong - and not too expensive?

Don't mention UK2 please

Thanks for any input.

I use a company called freeola. http://www.freeola.com

They are a simple cheap host, you just buy your domain with them and hosting is free - typical 2 year purchase of domain is 11.74 no other charges.

Tech support is available by phone, email and very reliable. Speak to a person everytime you phone.

Only downside is that to access the ftp for the site you have to use either their broadband or dialup connection. They do offer a freedom option to connect from any isp but this costs extra per month....

If its justa small site then these guys would do.

I friend reccomended these guys to me:

http://www.dream-hosting.co.uk

Looks like a small company but they are very cheap (£9.99 per year cheapest package)

They only accept paypal though (which worked out ok for me).

Not sure about telephone support but they have a custom support ticket system which i got a reply within 20 mins on a low priority ticket, guy seemed to know what he was on about as well.

They just upgraded my server as well (dont know the specs) but the speed is very good for such a cheap service. Worth a look.
