hi all,
the domain of my main site (tab-archive.com) is not listed in any spam blockers as I have tested on dnsstuff.com.
However when emails from the forum get sent, they get filtered as spam. Have tried several email aliases and that does not seem to make a diifference.
Is there something I'm missing or is it due to the forum email templates?
Any info on this would be great
many thanks
Sir P

Check at www.dnsreport.com. The errors at the top of the results probably are not affecting your email (they appear to be all DNS related) but near the bottom you do not have an SPF record.
Lack of an SPF record usually adds to the junk/spam rating an email receives. Some ISP's simply discard emails when the domain in the from address does not have an SPF record.
Also doing things like sending mail with a domain in the from address that does not match the reverse domain lookup of the mail server will add to the junk/spam rating. A missing replyto addresses and other missing headers will get a higher junk/spam rating. In addition to the from mail box name and alias name, Spam like subject lines and brief message bodies with lots of Spam like words will get a higher rating.
Most major ISP's have a postmaster/best email practice section that tells you what they consider to be abusive/junk/spam email that will help you tailor your email. Also, if you are having a problem with only one ISP and you have went through all the steps possible and your email is still going into junk/spam folders, you can submit your information to individual ISP's to be added to their "white" list of approve mail senders.
