Hi All,

Could anyone Please help me with this problem.

I am trying to use Matt's Script Archive formmail.cgi script (V1.92 and have also tried V1.6).

I have registered the domain ride-the-music.com and rent webspace at Infinology (http://www.infinology.com/).

The formmail CGI script seems to be working properly, because I can use it to send E-Mail to my main pop3 accounts (including steve@starship.st), but when I try to use it to send E-Mail to any of my E-Mail addresses at the @ride-the-music.com domain, the CGI script displays the page saying the message has been sent, but no messages ever arrive in any of my @ride-the-music.com domain E-Mail boxes (Or Mail Forwarders to my steve@starship.st E-Mail address).

I have also registered another domain: ridethemusic.co.uk, for forwarding. This also has the problem when I use the form to send mail to starship@ridethemusic.co.uk (Which should forward to steve@starship.st) or try to use it for webmaster@ridethemusic.co.uk (Which should forward to webmaster@ride-the-music.com) the formmail displays the screen saying everything is O.K, but the E-Mails never arrive (I have given it a few days for E-Mails to come through, but nothing!)

I think this could be a problem with my host, but they want me to pay $50 to have a programmer check the formmail CGI script, insisting there is nothing wrong with their servers.

I have attached my formmail.cgi and index.htm page. If anyone could please help me I would be very grateful.

Thanks,
Steve.

It sounds to me very much like your company is the one in the wrong, for two reasons.

Firstly, you've already been able to successfully send an email with the script, implying that it is working to some extent.

Secondly, you're using a very well known and very popular script which people have been using en masse.

So I think it's a case of one of two things; either your script isn't configured properly for the sending of emails to the second address (perhaps you typed the email address/domain wrongly?) or your host does have a fault.

Either way, there is no way at all they can be serious about charging $50 just to look at your script, which by the way, I can promise you is not the problem, and if they knew anything at all about Perl/CGI they would've heard of Matt's script archive at the very least.

Don't let them eat up your money.. I get pretty decent hosting from www.34sp.com for £12 a year. I haven't had any cause to complain yet, and they're the sort of people who will actually help if you've got a problem for free.
