Excel addition

Hi,

Say, cell a1 has data 5
and then i update a1 data to 10 after five minutes.
now, i need a formula in cell a2, which will give the addition value of previous data 5 and current data 10.
This process should continue as and when i update the A1 cell value.

Any replies?

i think that might be the impossible unless you had something like on change write to the next cell say in column f which doesn`t have data in it.

You should just be able to highlight the fields you want to add up and click the sum button

What you can do is create a procedure that holds a starting value, checks to see if the value in a field is different from this starting value. If it is different, add it to a sum-value and change the starting value to the actual field value. Display the sum-value anywhere you want it.

Fire this procedure with a frequency that fits your needs.

The only thing is, if the value you want to add is the same as the previous, it wont detect a change so it wont be added
