Here is my code - trying to keep things as simple as possible. Everything works in IE, but the button within the table does not work in Firefox... the one outside the table does...

Been sweating this for a couple of days now... The alert is for testing. What is weirder is that the button that is in a table gets to the LoadStation function. If you put the alert before the Player.URL bit, it shows that the function is getting the string.

Any ideas?

testing in Win2K - not sure how XP would react.

relevant code:

<script type="text/JavaScript">
<!--
function LoadStation (str)
{
Player.URL = str;
Player.controls.play();
alert(str);
}
</SCRIPT>

.
.
.

<body>
<OBJECT ID="Player" height="0" width="0" CLASSID="CLSID:6BF52A52-394A-11d3-B153-00C04F79FAA6">
<embed type="application/x-mplayer2" pluginspage="(URL address blocked: See forum rules)" name="Player"></embed>
</OBJECT>

<input name="song_button" type="button" onClick="LoadStation('(URL address blocked: See forum rules))" value="mp3a">

<table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0">
<tr>
<td><input name="song_button" type="button" onClick="LoadStation('(URL address blocked: See forum rules))" value="mp3a"></td>
</tr>
</table>

Firefox needs activex for the play() function to even work. By default activex in firefox is not installed so the script you have above shouldn't even work in Firefox in the first place.
